The site for this single family home is located on a quiet street that runs along the upper ridge of Mt. Washington, with sweeping views of the valley below.  Our approach to the site was informed completely by the spectacular views and the gentle bowl-shaped lot that falls away below the road. The house’s relationship to the site is a dynamic one. By using a dual language of light, horizontal lines and massive, vertical piers the building is at once anchored to the earth and hovering over it.
